Mission
Why we exist
The Kinetic Arts Association is a micro-nonprofit dedicated to cultivating community through movement arts. We believe physical play — juggling, balancing, spinning, throwing, catching — is a deep human need, and that it flourishes best in open, welcoming community.
Our model is simple: maintain a lending library of props and equipment, create open space for people to gather, and get out of the way. No membership required. No experience necessary. No performance pressure. Just show up, pick something up, and see what happens.
Vision
What we're building toward
A community where movement arts are woven into everyday life — where the person who just learned to juggle three balls is practicing next to someone who's been spinning staff for a decade, and both are better for it.
Philosophy
The garden model
The phrase comes from our conviction that the best communities are open ones. A garden has structure — tended paths, shared tools, a cultivated environment — but it doesn't exclude. What grows is shaped by who shows up and what they bring.
In practice: we provide equipment so cost is never a barrier. We hold open sessions so access is never restricted. We welcome beginners and experts equally, because every person who picks up a juggling ball for the first time makes the garden richer.
